The goal is to keep the factory audio system in tack, but add a CD Changer, Amp and Subs.
-
Changer went into the center console.
-
We chose a 6-Disc Changer from USA-Spec that was made specifically for this vehicle. Not only does it fit where a factory one would, but it is also fully controllable from the OEM stereo. The mini toggle switch you see in the picture is a kill switch for the subwoofers. The customer uses it when his kids are in the vehicle with him.
-
To power the subwoofers, a Lighting Audio's S2.300.2 Strike Series amplifier was chosen. We picked this amp based on both its physical size and because it can put out the amount of power needed to get the job done. There's also a remote bass knob / sub level control for the amplifier that was mounted up front. We really can't say enough about these amps. They are awesome, they produce, and they have yet to let us down!
-
A customer ported enclosure was built to house (2) Audiobahn AW1251T 12" subwoofers. We later put grills over the subs to protect them from loose cargo.
