This Malibu is a daily driver but being setup for show. It is still under construction, but coming along nicely. The owner is part of a local car club, Discrete Elite, and has been doing most of the modifications himself. He needed some help with the sound system and brought it to Majestic Music for a custom designed subwoofer system.This Malibu is a daily driver but being setup for show. Installation
During the design phase of a subwoofer system, several characteristics are always taken into account. In this case it was things such as the type of music the owner listens to, the subs cosmetic appeal, and the power capabilities of the Rockford amplifier the owner already had. The Audiobahn AW1006T 10" subwoofers were selected as the sub we were going to use. We then began designing the enclosure and it became clear that a tuned or ported enclosure was going to give us the best results. Now that all the hard work is done, we began building the enclosure. The enclosure was built to fire all of the sound forward through the rear seat. Grills were added for cosmetic purposes at the car shows more then to actually protect the subwoofers.
There were plenty of other things that were done to this vehicle. Such as component speakers in the front doors that are powered by the Alpine in the dash. The component tweeters were color matched to match the existing accent theme throughout the vehicle. There was a little work done under the hood to dress up the factory wiring and an aftermarket/custom intake was added. Audiobahn coaxial 6x9" speakers are mounting in the rear deck and powered by an Audiobahn A4002T amplifier. The Rockford bd1000 provides power to the subwoofers.
