Truck was brought to us new. There are no pre-fab enclosure options available for this vehicle yet, so it was brought to Majestic Music to come up with a way to add some bass.
-
The overall goal of the system was loud; clean sound with a little bass. Not so much that you hear it a block away, just tight clean bass. We started by replacing the factory stereo with a Panasonic CQ-C8300U CD/MP3/WMA Receiver.

The bottom of the enclosure was molded to the contour of the floorboard. We also molded the top of the enclosure to match the exact contours of the bottom of the rear seat. This is a good picture to demonstrate the complex shapes and curves that we duplicated using fiberglass. This enclosure fully maximized every bit of available air space under the seat.

Here is the enclosure after we wrapped it in vehicle matching carpet. Shown with the Audiobahn AW800Q - 8" Subwoofer mounted in it. As a note, it should also be mentioned that the customer wanted the enclosure to be removable quickly if needed, so it was wired with a quick connect/disconnect plug to make the process very easy while protecting the amplifier at the same time.

Here you can see the enclosure in place. The subwoofer fires forward for the best possible sound. Alleviating any interference of the sound wave that would have been caused if we had fired the sub up into the bottom of the seat or down into the floorboard. The amp is an Ample Audio A551X - 5-Channel amplifier that runs the entire system. All the factory speakers in the doors were replaced with Audiobahn mids and highs.

Another shot of the sub under the seat. It provided the clean, tight, accurate bass that the customer was looking for. But bass is addicting and it does not take too long before you want more...
